11.02.13- Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
Johnny Silver Bear As the editor of the Silver Bear Cafe, I spend most of my time researching current events. I explore the markets, the economic war that is being waged on the middle class, precious metals, the Federal Reserve, energy, and how to go about surviving financially. In this weekly column I will attempt to condense the week's events and examine how the news might affect your pocketbook. JSB Financial Markets This week, in a contribution from Luis Martin, we are made aware that the currency wars, being conducted by Central Bankers the world over, have been anticipated and, in some instances, even planned. The Bear has has been growling about the advent of an imminent U.S. Dollar collapse since we came online in 2001. America has been living way beyond its means for over forty years. When Nixon took the U.S. off the gold standard (1971), the Central Bank (the Fed) was gifted with the opportunity to create as much funny money as it wanted, backed by nothing. It was allowed, by a brain dead populace, persuaded at the point of a gun, to enrich its owners and its owners' friends with, literally trillions of free dollars. These dollars were free to them, but not to us. We we made liable for the unconstitutional interest on this bogus money, as taxpayers. That interest would then further enrich the perps. Talk about adding insult to injury! This funny money allowed the criminal minions of Banksters and insider traders to laugh all the way to the bank. They, in turn, immediately converted this free money into real wealth in the form of land, machinery, factories, power generation capability, arms and munitions, precious metals and every other kind of commodity on earth. It has also provided for the purchase, through bribes, of corrupt leaders and politicians the world over. Through the corruption of the leaders of the world, the greatest wealth transfer and the greatest disparity between the top one percent, and the rest of us, has transpired. An unprecidented crime has taken place. It is, perhaps, the most heinous crime in the history of the world. It was the combination of the Bretton Wood's agreement (1947) and the Petro Dollar agreement (1974) that allowed this event to occur, and has additionally allowed the "game to go on" for this long. Although we were not privy to the gifting of this funny money, we have been erroneously led to believe that this counterfeit currency was just as valuable as it had been when it was backed by gold. Unfortunately, it was not. We were told that it was worth the fruits of our labors, as was the rest of the world. Unfortunately, it was not. When this system is finally exposed, and the world's population realizes the scam that has been perpetrated on them, the labor of American workers will, understandably, be worth no more that of our Chinese counterparts. The dollar will lose all its perceived value and inflation will provide that we will not even be able to afford the offerings of Walmart. Given the cutbacks in the SNAP Card program commencing this week, the future of the middle class, and its safety nets, appears unseasonably grim. The only thing that stands in the way of America becoming a third world country , is the ongoing petrodollar system, and that system is unraveling at an exponential rate. In the winter of 2009, lawyer, investment banker, and advisor on capital markets to the Director of National Intelligence and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, James Rickards took part in a secret war game sponsored by the Pentagon at the Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). The game's objective was to simulate and explore the potential outcomes and effects of a global financial war. Two years later, Rickards published what would become a national bestseller, Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crisis. In Currency Wars, Rickards concluded that a dangerous global financial crisis was not only in the making, but that it was inevitable. Based on that financial war game inside a top-secret facility at the APL's Warfare Analysis Laboratory, a historical analysis of international monetary policy in the twentieth century, as well as his assessment of the events leading to and adopted after the financial debacle of 2008, Rickards laid out the endgame that would result from the global financial chaos of the first currency war of this century; the collapse of the U.S. dollar and the eventual replacement of fiat money with a return to the gold standard. "The world is getting closer to that end game every day," warns Rickards, who just finished writing the sequel to Currency Wars, titled The Death of Money, The Coming Collapse of the International Monetary System. Due out in bookstores next April 2014, The Death of Money picks up on the disturbing predictions outlined in Currency Wars and carries the analysis further into how the international monetary system might collapse and what new system will replace it. While Currency Wars "looked at global macroeconomics through the lens for foreign exchange rates including periods when exchange rates were pegged to gold and the more recent floating exchange rate period," Rickards explains, "The Death of Money looks at the global macro economy more broadly considering not just exchange rates and the dollar, but also fiscal policy and the need for structural change in the U.S., China, Japan and Europe." In addition, Rickards elaborates, "Currency Wars made extensive use of history to develop its main themes about the dollar and gold, The Death of Money relies less on history and more on dynamic analysis." Where some see a seemingly calm climate enveloping the global economy and financial markets eagerly embrace the U.S. Federal Reserve System's zero interest rates and easing monetary policies, Rickards sees the prevalence of patterns that only confirm his forecast for an impending storm. Rickards expects the Federal Reserve policies aimed at importing inflation into the United States "to offset the deflation that had arisen because of the ongoing depression and deleveraging" to continue well into 2015 and perhaps beyond. He also points to other developments that are aligning in favor of the increasingly demise of confidence in the dollar as the world's reserve currency: "U.S. fiscal policy, stockpiling of gold by Russia and China, money printing by Japan and the UK, and the rise of regional groups such as the BRICS." On the Economic War Front As I end each of these weekly diatribes; You must first realize that there are, present in our lives, enemies. You must then know who those enemies are and act accordingly. So, can we "profile" suspects whom we believe might be our enemies? What might constitute an enemy? Certainly, an enemy does not have your best interests at heart. In an attempt to work within the system, Americans have traditionally banded together to vocalize their political objections and attempted to vote out their opposition. Dr. Ron Paul was instrumental in forming the modern day Tea Party in 2008, for that exact purpose. From Wikipedia: The Tea Party movement is an American political movement that is primarily known for advocating a reduction in the U.S. national debt and federal budget deficit by reducing U.S. government spending and taxes The movement has been called partly conservative, partly libertarian, and partly populist. It has sponsored protests and supported political candidates since 2008. The name is derived from the Boston Tea Party of 1773, an iconic event in American history. Anti-tax protesters in the United States have often referred to the original Boston Tea Party for inspiration. References to the Boston Tea Party were part of Tax Day protests held throughout the 1990s and earlier. By 2001, a custom had developed among some conservative activists of mailing tea bags to legislators and other officials as a symbolic act. The political Left has "profiled", as right-wing extremists, those who actively participate in the various Tea Party chapters, and anyone else who might ideologically object to the dismantling of the United States Constitution. The attempt of its dismantling is being made because its "Bill of Rights" interferes with, and is obstructing, the agenda being forwarded by the present administration. Vice President Joe Biden, along with all the other usual suspects (Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, et al) has labeled Tea Party members, and those of a similar ilk, terrorists. Do you sympathize with anyone who is livid about the criminal misconduct of banksters, politicians, Supreme Court Judges, our present administration, and hundreds, if not thousands of other members of government who, on a daily basis, flaunt their overt disobedience of Constitutional Law, to the great detriment of the American people? If you participate in protesting that disobedience, or even sympathize with others that do, you are, in the eyes of the government, a terrorist. Someone who thinks that I'm a terrorist is misguided, maladjusted, mentally deficient and definitely not on my side. Any objections that I might voice are derived from my First Amendment/God Given right, and a healthy exercise of self defence. Those that would deprive me of any of my rights, so they could more easily do me harm, are my enemies. Those that would deprive you of any of your rights are your enemies as well. I believe that the bulk of the terrorists, in the world, are inside the beltway. This week we lean on a perennial favorite, Brandon Smith, who provides for us a "plausible explanation" of the nature of terrorism. Power, or perceived power, is a viciously addictive narcotic. It doesn't matter what political or philosophical background a person hails from, very few have the self discipline or the self awareness necessary to relinquish the trappings of power once they have tasted it. This truth applies to conservatives as much as it applies to liberals. I began my early political life as a Democrat, and until I came to understand the nature of the false left right paradigm in 2004, my view of the negative within government was slanted entirely against the GOP. When a finally grasped the fantasy of the two party process, I did not let go of my criticisms of the Republican hierarchy as much as accept the fact that the same criticisms applied to the Democrats as well. They are, ultimately, the same entity with the same exact ideological goals hidden by cosmetic differences in shallow rhetoric. I have no interest whatsoever in perpetuating the false left/right paradigm, or giving undue credit to the GOP. However, as stated earlier, power is a drug, one which the so-called "left" has been hooked on since the Obama Administration took its seat in the White House. While the Republicans have much to answer for (the Bush years are a nightmarish example), it is the Democratic Party, and those who blindly identify with it, that must be addressed today. It is they who are now directly feeding the elitist machine, giving it momentum, and aiding in the destruction of the American economy and culture. It is their madness and thirst for control that is being exploited by the establishment to demonize legitimate activists who seek Constitutional transparency (the only people in this country today who understand the bigger picture and who the real enemies are) thus undermining any chance our society has for a free and prosperous future. Precious Metals Since the beginnings of my exercises in frequently seeming futility, of my attempts to, through the Silver Bear Cafe, wake up the world, I have leaned on the intellect, experience and vision of numerous pundits who I realized then, were much smarter than I. As I have admitted, time and time again, my short comings, in regard to my vision, have been mostly a result of my bad timing. In 2001 I predicted that precious metals would "go to the moon" by 2004 and, although they have made great gains, they have still not "gone to the moon". I predicted the housing bubble busting two years before it finally did. I predicted the demise of both Freddy and Fannie too soon as well. I anticipated the total collapse of the banking system by 2007, and, although we experienced an event a mere one year later, it didn't collapse. A massive adjustment perhaps, but no collapse. I think I understand the nature of my miscalculations, and if I am right, they are a result of my selling the Federal Reserve's power to invent money, short. The power to invent money is, perhaps, the most powerful tool of theft that has ever existed. If you haven't watched Mike Maloney's The Biggest Scam In The History Of Mankind, please do. If you are reading this you are probably aware that I spend an inordinate amount of time studying the market's machinations and listening to very smart people predict the system's demise. We could, metaphorically speaking, say that it is all being held up by "smoke and mirrors". To me, that metaphor suggests that, in reality, it's not being held up at all, but rather being levitated by the collective wishes of a large portion of the world's population. At some point, the confidence will disappear as the system is exposed as completely phoney, and all those holding dollars will suddenly realize that they had better quit holding dollars. The levitation will then fail and it will all come down at the speed of gravity, much like all three towers on 911. Contrived collapses all. In returning to the reference that I made to pundits much smarter than I, John Williams, Jim Rickards, Paul Craig Roberts, Marc Faber and many, many others have, increasingly, determined that the time of the levitation failure is nigh. When it finally implodes under its own weight, the "moon shot" will finally and spectacularly occur. To those of us that are, at least partially, prepared, it will be like Christmas in March. For everyone else (including most of us who are partially prepared) it will be paradigmatically paralysing and a most uncomfortable occurrence. More from Egon von Greyerz.
Energy This week I was able to immerse myself in the projections of two of my favorites, Catherine Austin Fitts and Paul Craig Roberts. Ms. Fitts was interviewed by Greg Hunter of USAWatchdog.com. The video is currently being featured in the members only section of "the Bear", but, if you are not yet a member, you can view it by clicking on this link. Ms. Fitts is, in my opinion, one of the most prescient pundits on the alternative media scene today, and selflessly provides us with insights to the inner workings of the criminal cartel which is the government. Her years of experience as a member of George the Older's administration provide her an insiders view that is not shared by many. Her subsequent "fall from grace" as a result of her attempt to out the fraud she discovered in the operations of HUD, almost destroyed both her business as well as her personal life. In fact, every administration since Regan's has been as corrupt as our current one. The difference is, the ones that preceded George the Younger's administration had enough intelligence and good sense, to keep their criminality out of the public eye. Catherine Austin Fitts explains to us that the criminal banksters will never be prosecuted, because they are all that is keeping the government and the economy afloat. Because of this fact, it seems plausible that the citizens will never risk an economic collapse which might result from pissing off the bankers. I follow her line of thought but also find her logic lacking in one natural area. That minor lack of understanding is a result of her gender. Women do not think like men. They never have and never will. I suspect the free lunch mentality that pervades every aspect of our society is, in great part, a result of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment (woman's suffrage). Because women are oft left "holding the bag" they have welcomed whatever help they could get. Because Ms. Fitts does not think like a man, she does not understand how ruthless, mindless, evil and corrupt men can be. In her interview, she contradicts Mr. Hunter several times by suggesting we will have no near term collapse. Business will proceed as normal because the banksters will continue to ply their felonious trade, unimpaired. I wish that was the case. Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, on the other hand, takes a dimmer view of the near term future. Along with criminal banksters, we also have criminal neglect and malfeasance to deal with as a result of an on-going series of crimes that continue to imperil our very existence on earth. Some of the issues that come to mind include the BP catastrophe, know as the Deep Water Horizon. This massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico resulted in the decimation of many species of marine life as well as the contamination of much of the seafood currently being harvested. First of all, it was Haliburton, not BP that was directly responsible for the disaster to begin with, a fact that has not been shared with the American public. It is not simply banksters that operate criminal business in the U.S. Illinois-based Nalco Co., the manufacturer of Corexit, the chemical dispersant that causes the oil spewing from the still broken well to sink, "out of sight, out of mind" is still providing the U.S. Coast Guard with the chemical which is still being sprayed. To reiterate, the well is still leaking and the Corexit is still being sprayed. Of course, among all the other criminal perps involved in this debacle, the Obama administration is most culpable. Enter the insane attempt to control the weather. The U.S. Government is involved with a program worthy of Victor Frankstein. Again, from Wikipedia:
Author Jerry E. Smith posits that HAARP can trigger earthquakes, summon tsunamis, foster hurricanes, and even remotely detonate aircraft. He and others claim you can see the telltale fingerprints of HAARP meddling through unusual celestial lights and aberrant animal behavior. Shortly after the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe, and after massive quantities of Corexit had been sprayed, a tropical depression entered the gulf and, although it never became a hurricane, lifted millions of tons of Corexit laced water, through the power of atmospheric convection up into the storm, which was then dumped on portions of Louisanna and Mississippi. Links here, here, and here. That storm resulted in the unexplained destruction of all plant life in a fairly wide swath of those two southern states. I believe that HAARP has kept hurricanes out of the gulf since the spill in an attempt to keep mass genocide from occurring in the gulf states, Consequently, it has not rained on our family's meager hay farm in East Texas, for the last four years. In the summer, we depend on tropical storms to bring water up from the gulf via the prevailing southern winds. No rain, no hay. The fact that the spill happened was a horrible accident, but it was also the result of criminal negligence. These weren't bankster criminals, just regular evil criminal putzes risking too much for profit. But the real travesty is the complicity of our present administration, that while lacking the capacity for critical thought, seems to be solely motivated with kickbacks and under the table payments. Back to Mr, Roberts. In this weeks missive he suggests the probability of attempted weather control and cites an extremely abnormal drought in the western states while the eastern states are receiving far more rainfall than normal. So much so that, in Northern Georgia, it has been so wet that there are no acorns. The deer are being forced to eat the bark off of trees, which will kill the trees, and bears are forced to forage in garbage cans. He goes on to suggest that humanity has been imperiled as a result of these events. Don't even get me started on Fukushima... To inform people is hard slugging. Everything is lined up against the public being informed, or the policymakers for that matter. News is contaminated by its service to special interests and hidden agendas. Many scientists or their employers are dependent on federal money. Even psychologists and anthropologists were roped into the government's torture and occupation programs. Economists tell lies for corporations and Wall Street. Plant and soil scientists tell lies for agribusiness and Monsanto. Truth tellers are slandered and persecuted. However, persistence can eventually win out. In the long-run, truth sometimes emerges. But not always. And not always in time. I have been trying to inform the American people, economists, and policymakers for more than a decade about the adverse impacts of jobs offshoring on the US economy. The word has eventually gotten out. Last week I was contacted by 8th grade students competing for their school in CSPAN's StudentCam Documentary Contest. They want to interview me on the subject of jobs offshoring for their documentary film. America is a strange place. Here are eighth graders far ahead of the economics profession, the President, the Congress, the Federal Reserve, Wall Street, and the financial press in their understanding of one of the fundamental problems of the US economy. Yet, people say the public schools are failing. Obviously, not the one whose students contacted me. The Fed I receive emails regularly suggesting that everything that is occurring in the world is a result of a well knit group of evil doers who have, somehow, harnessed the super-human ability to orchestrate the horrible demise of our country for their personal benefit. Oh, if it were that simple. Ben Shalom Bernanke is a product of the same misinformation campaign that has mislead the rest of the country. He was allowed to ascend to the level he now occupies because he is such a bozo. A self absorbed pseudo academic, he has yet to do anything that has not exacerbated the situation. Most of what he is absolutely positive about is erroneous B.S. that he learned in college. Although he received a Ph.D. in economics from MIT, he is an ardent adherent of the teachings of John Maynard Keynes, who was also a complete and total bozo. How the teachings of Keynes can be taken seriously by what is supposedly a most prestigious institution of higher learning (MIT) is way beyond me. It is crap science and provides the same type of allure that was once provided by eugenics. Bernanke lives in a make believe world where folks are sure Lincoln was a good guy, Woodrow Wilson was smart, and F.D.R. was a saint and savior. What tripe. The problem lies in the greed provoked ineptitude that our body politic has descended into. Bernanke panders to congress so congress can pander to each other. So long as the citizenry continue to allow politicians to enact one set of laws for the people and another set of laws for themselves, we have nothing to look forward to except the continued destruction of America, coming soon to a country near you. We live in parallel universes. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is said to have a healthy concern about deflation. McDonald's franchisees, on the other hand, not so much. The chain of Golden Arches fame will give up its Dollar Menu after 11 years, renaming it "The Dollar Menu & More" next month. It turns out you simply can't make a buck selling burgers for a buck. It must be hard to give up on such an amazing marketing gimmick, generating one-seventh of all sales since its inception. But as Derek Thompson describes in The Atlantic, the Dollar Menu is an anchor "enraging franchisees who can't make any money selling 2013 processed cow meat at 2002 prices." If Ben Bernanke is paying attention, he is no doubt thrilled to hear about rising price pressures. Wendy's changed its 99-cent menu to a "Right Price Right Size" menu. The Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe went from 99 cents to $1.19. And customers got four chicken nuggets, instead of five, for 99 cents. In his piece for The Atlantic, Thompson commented that beef prices have done anything but lag behind other items. He writes, "the price of beef and other staples has been turbulent." What's angered franchisees is the price of the double cheeseburger over the cost of its ingredients. Financial Survival Members of Congress have no right to breathe (metaphorically speaking) with out our permission. All the bailouts, as well as the special considerations, which include the compensation packages that they have"voted" for themselves, are illegal. These miscreants are criminal putzs that are pretending to "legally" pass unconstitutional abominations, and their actions are prosecutable. The sheeple out there that are completely dependent on these handouts are no longer capable of critical thought or being responsible citizens. Responsible citizens would insist that the criminals (both the banksters and the politicians) that were responsible for their hardships be prosecuted. If those sheeple have allowed themselves to be sufficiently "dumbed down" to no longer be willing to stand up for their rights, that is their problem, not ours. Our problem involves ridding America of the vermin that are criminal politicians and the criminal banksters. How did we get this way. What could motivate our so called representatives to act so reprehensibly? They have all rolled over to the siren song of power and greed, The name of the game is collectivism. In a relatively new feature on "the Bear" we are reposting some of the best contributions we have received in the last thirteen years. In our archives of over twenty-thousand essays and commentaries, we bring you "the Best of the Bear". Mr. Griffin has contributed many of our finest additions.
You must first realize that there are, present in our lives, enemies. You must then know who those enemies are and act accordingly. Eliminate as much debt as possible, especially variable rate debt, such as credit cards and lines of credit. Interest rates will be rising, so the elimination of debt offers a real return of escaping rising rates by creditors. Get some control over some fresh water. If you are depending exclusively on Social Security, stop. Follow the course opposite to custom and you will almost always do well... Its not what you don't know that will screw you up, it's what you think you know that is wrong. The spin you hear from the mainstream media is intended to mislead you. Open your eyes and face the future. If you leave your head in the sand and ignore it, you are only leaving your butt exposed for the world to kick. This all may sound like gloom and doom, but when you get a handle on what is going to happen, you will have a future filled with opportunity. Fortune favors the Informed. More next week... May the Great Spirit be with you always, Johnny
