Thom
Calandra is the founding editor of CBS MarketWatch and currently serves
as the Chief Commentator. He has covered financial markets, companies and
the gold market in Europe and the U.S. for more than 20 years -- in London,
at the San Francisco Examiner, where he wrote that newspaper's popular
daily investing column, and in cities across the USA. He has appeared on
the CBS Evening News and periodically delivers commentary for the CBS Radio
Network. Thom is a featured commentator on the weekly CBS MarketWatch Weekend
television show, which airs on CBS stations across the United States. He
writes Thom Calandra's StockWatch, a popular column about U.S. investment
trends. Thom was also editor of the 2002 investment book How America Made
a Fortune and Lost Its Shirt .
Thom has won many awards and was named one of the top 100 financial journalists in the United States by the TJFR Group. Thom holds a Master's degree in English from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor's degree of Arts from City University of New York at Brooklyn College. He lives with his wife, Maura, son, Skylar, and daughter, Gemma, in Sausalito, Calif.
