The literal definition of this Latin phrase is Not sane or not in one’s right mind:

Classically, not having control of one’s mind.

It was first used in thirteenth-century English law to describe people afflicted by madness, the loss of memory, or the ability to reason.

My interpretation…

No Compass, Means Us…

I constantly wonder about the absurd and foundering America I see today. All reason and intelligence appear to be discarded, or we’ve intentionally abandoned using good sense and logic. We seem emotionally driven, guided more by feelings than intellect.

Did we utterly legislate or litigate reason into obscurity using “the end justifies the means” as our rationale? 

Are we so acclimated to being told what and how to think that reason is foreign?

Are we that reliant on the interpretations of the Media Industrial Complex that tell us how to react to their carefully selected and artfully embellished stories?

Maybe we’re not used to thinking or deciding for ourselves. There is freedom in having someone think for you and adopting the party line. You’re not culpable but taken to the ultimate conclusion: you forfeit that freedom and become a pawn.

If goals are ambiguous and ill-defined, how do you know when you’ve achieved them?

If you have no direction, how do you know where you are or where you’re going?

Without a compass, the only choice for direction is “dead reckoning.”

· Dead Reckoning is the process of calculating the current position of a moving object by using a previously determined position or fix and incorporating estimates of speed, heading (direction or course), and elapsed time.

· It is highly susceptible to cumulative errors.

· It is a best guess.

· It also means insensible and void of perception.

I see college students calling for genocide in retaliation for genocide. They condone murdering an entire population because the Jews had the chutzpa to retaliate.

Hamas commits atrocities against the Jews who defend themselves against the barbarians whose intent is to remove all Jews from the face of the earth. Hezbollah, through their lapdogs Hamas, vows to finish what Hitler began in the 1930s, and America provides the funding through ill-conceived and irresponsible foreign policies, presidential floundering, and fiat.

Where is the logic or reason in any of this?

You cannot condemn genocide and advocate genocide.

It doesn’t make any sense. Why not look for the cause instead of leaping to foregone and emotional conclusions? Yet, this is where we’re led by the Media Industrial Complex.

We were warned about Biden’s acumen. His last boss had an unflattering opinion of China Joey…

Who’s advocating this genocide?

The new axis of evil – China, Russia, and Iran.

America’s been funding them for years with foreign aid and with money to Ukraine, free trade agreements, selling our debt to China and letting Iran sell oil on the open market – mainly to China, and leaving $85 Billion in military hardware in Iraqistan for them to deploy or sell… We’ve financed this Intifada and Jihadist incursion into Israel by lifting oil export sanctions in Iraqistan.

Money given to Ukraine is used to purchase weapons on the open market – China and Iran – to use in our proxy war with Russia. We’re funding these wars! Now, we’re being drawn into a proxy war in the Middle East as we defend Israel. We will fight the Axis of Evil on multiple fronts – in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Soon, China will draw us into a war in the Indo-Pacific to protect Taiwan. Hello WWIII.

I thought China Joey was the master of international diplomacy. Isn’t that what he said?

Is America prepared?

We weren’t paying attention, as the people we hired to watch for us led us to this point. They were engaged in partisan political posturing and preserving their positions instead of performing them. I’m convinced there is also a generous quid pro quo provision in Marxist political circles enticing them to abandon reason and trade our security and sovereignty for their positions of power.

America assured the genocide by financing it – indirectly by lifting sanctions and continued non-governmental organization (NGO) and philanthropic aid that all goes to support our proxy war with Russia. Next, the Middle East, and soon China… WWIII with the Axis of Evil…

We’re surprised that our humanitarian and foreign aid-loving friends bite the hand that paid them. How dare they! We paid them to be loyal Merkan-luvin allies. What’s wrong with ’em?

Why does the Media Industrial Complex cultivate this message?

Carnage and mayhem sell more advertising than sweet, cuddly critters and sparkly unicorns. Social and Mainstream media thrive on ratings, and Merkan’s are primarily interested in gladiatorial games and trainwrecks. Every minute you watch, and each click-through you follow, rings the cash register for the Media Industrial Complex. The most popular MIC companies attract the biggest advertisers who spend the most money.

If you want to know the ‘who’ and the ‘why,’ just follow the money!

Placing blame is a useless exercise. When I assign blame in any situation, I’m reminded of Great Granny Hargis’ warning: “When you point an accusing finger, look down at that fist – three fingers are pointing back at you!” This situation is as much our fault as our “Post Turtle” and Chief. We put him up there, and we allow this to continue, and all we ever do is whine… which is why he’s still there, and we are where we are.

What are we teaching our children?

Where are our ire and our indignation for their messaging?

Oh, yeah… Freedom of Expression and the Press…

This indoctrination begins in primary and secondary public schools. It is reinforced in various mid-level academies and is polished in universities and colleges throughout this republic.

They gild this insipid ideological turd in post-graduate studies like a Ph.D. in Humanities, Culinary Arts, Fashion Design, Art History, Physics, Commercial Arts and Graphic Design, Mass Media, Music, Marketing and Market Research, Information Systems, and Political Sciences, Pharmacognosy (the study of organisms that can have medicinal benefits), and the most valuable of all… Philosophy (the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, and conduct),

The main aim of these institutions is to guarantee doctoral students a very high level of training to improve the institution’s degree programs’ reputation and their national and international recognition to attract students and make loads of money in the process.

· The average cost is $58,565 annually for these 4 to 8-year-long PhD courses.

Big Brother demands compliance, even in private businesses and corporations, through Federal programs and policies that create standards compelling Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE) and Governance, Environmental, and Social Schooling (GESS) rules to ensure social consciousness in investing.

DIE and GESS reinforce the propaganda and brainwashing in our country through our private corporations and businesses. And I’ll bet you can’t guess who came up with this alphabet soup of acronyms… Yep… The PhDs in Education, Sociology, Gender Studies, Environmental and Political Science, Liberal Thinking, Transformative Thinking – Learning – Justice – Education – and Social Change. The only one missing is a Doctoral program in Doctoral Studies – a PhD in PhD! These professional students want us to cover the cost of their credential pursuit.

You weren’t watching, were you.

Our government inaugurated this process in the 1950s and was officially sanctioned in 1979 with the creation of the Department of Education (DoE) – their Formal Indoctrination Bureau (FIB).

Together, GESS, FIB, DoE, and DIE conceive these insipid policies that propagate through their communication branch in the Social and Media Industrial Complex (S&MIC) to their loyal and captive audiences and our children.

Now, through S&MIC, we GESS, FIB, and DIE-DoE our way to compliance in Merka.

· GESS, FIB, DoE, & DIE sounds like a DC law firm… doesn’t it?

Do you realize that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has direct ties to Primavera, a company that runs and controls over 200 online K-12 schools in our country? We let our enemies define and interfere in our education, and the DoE is fully aware of what and how our children learn. When concerned parents dare to complain, the Department of Justice (DoJ) labels them Domestic Terrorists and, therefore, Enemies of the State.

We are constitutionally guaranteed the right to religious freedom; however, the DoJ spies on Fundamental Catholics and other monotheistic faiths that don’t follow Marxist or DoJ’s prescribed doctrines. The First Amendment clearly states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.” De-secularizing our country by intimidation violates this statement.

Why aren’t we protesting the violation of this First Amendment right? We sure make a lot of noise about limiting our Freedom of Expression but say nothing when Big Brother misuses it.

FYI… The DoJ is the Big Brother’s enforcer – Biden’s Stasi, his Ministry for State Security (Ministerium für Staats Sicherheit – MfS), aka, Main Directorate for Reconnaissance (MDR).

Is there any wonder that graduates are Marxists, Socialists, Communist sympathizers, and Anti-American?

Do you realize that most public high school graduates are functionally illiterate, unable to read or perform math at the 8th-grade level? Yet they march and protest as directed by the S&MIC.

We allowed the people we hired to run our country to deliver our future to our enemies on a silver platter for a few pieces of silver and the promise of a high-level appointment in the New World Order.

Where are your outrage, protests, and righteous indignation?

This is treason – and it was condoned because the end justifies the means… and I still wonder what that end is. I know it was done – but I don’t understand why for the life of me.

I’m sure a few things in this country display our prudence and probity, but I can’t tell you what they are; nothing comes to mind. They may be simple things in individual’s lives, but as for the country, well, the title speaks volumes.

My reticence and restraint are worn thin from the years of this idiocy and folly.

When did we put our moral compass in the kitchen junk drawer? You know, where all the rarely used and broken items go to retire, seldom seen and never to be used again. We have every intention of using them someday, but not right away like that deck of 50 playing cards or the pen-light with the burned-out bulb and dead battery you can’t replace. Oh, there’s the garage door remote for the house you lived in ten years ago and the 2-meter tape measure that no longer retracts. At least 25 random keys are looking for a lock to open.

It’s the graveyard of our best intentions and round-to-its, you know, the things you intend to do later but never get around to… It’s a fitting tomb for our morals, ethics, and sound judgment, the final resting place of our moral compass.

The compass is a device for determining directions using a magnetic needle or group of needles, turning freely on a pivot and pointing to the magnetic north. The user can calculate any bearings and any direction using these needles.

I’ve used the metaphor of the moral compass in several past commentaries. It is a set of beliefs or values that help guide ethical decisions, judgments, and behavior: an internal sense of right and wrong. So, just like the instrument, it can influence directions and choices.

Three possibilities exist.

1. It’s an illusion.

2. The compass is broken.

3. We’ve learned to ignore it.

1) If morality is an illusion, our concepts of right and wrong are also imaginary. We believe them to be innate, but they are learned in the Judeo-Christian world of ethics. We know right from wrong at an early age. It’s ingrained. Other religions omit this morality in favor of obedience to their god. Omitting the wrong and right dichotomy allows the leader to interpret any written passage as a mandate from god. Allah says to kill all the Jews…

2) The moral compass still exists and functions commendably; we’ve forgotten how to use it. It’s easier to follow passionate appeals and rousing proposals than to consider the consequences of any action. Hitler’s appeal to Germany’s nationalism began the Holocaust. It’s that simple to incite an angry mob to violence. Hitler blamed the Jews for all of Germany’s problems and current situation. Germans were already full of hateful indoctrination. All it takes is an antisemitic spark to ignite the fuel.

3) Americans are programmed to ignore anything that interferes with what we’re told to believe. Repeat a lie often enough, and it becomes the truth.

We know that it’s wrong to kill another human being. It’s the sixth commandment – thou shall not kill. Yet we changed the name to make it acceptable. We call it abortion. We define the moment of life to remove culpability and guilt. We hide behind the words and the concepts to ease what little conscience remains.

We ignore biology and insist, “I think, therefore I am.” It encourages emotional and gender fluidity and interchangeability. Believing doesn’t make it so. It’s all acting. I can think I’m a cat and act and live like a cat, but I am not a cat…

We wage wars for the convenience of profit, not for protection or self-preservation. Ask the Military Industrial Congressional Complex about the earnings from prolonging wars or even starting them in the first place.

I’m not against defense; in fact, I support a powerful professional military to keep America safe. But I don’t believe America should be the world’s police force. It is an extension and rationalization for the Military-Industrial Congressional Complex.

It is so elementary for Americans to take direction from someone else and feed on their opinion. It discharges our responsibility and leaves us blameless in the event of a wrong or bad decision. We simply deny involvement – we maintain plausible deniability – just like politicians.

I wonder where we learned that trick.

Politicians taught Merkans the “blame game,” and we learned this lesson quite well. It’s our number one excuse when we’re caught or trapped. We’ll throw each other under the bus instantly to avoid liability.

Open your eyes for just a moment.

Look around you and witness the havoc – destruction, devastation, and ruinous damage in this country caused by false flags and passionate calls for action against our fundamental precepts of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Are we better today than we were yesterday?

Preamble:

“We, the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Where in that statement does it allow us to behave as we do in this country, act without personal responsibility or thought, or abandon our obligation to each other and our republic?

Where is our moral compass?

This single statement is an indictment against everything we see, hear, and read as performed by the Media Industrial Congressional Complex: “We the people” and our “leadership” who shirk their responsibility to “establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare.”

I ask again, where is our moral compass?

America’s attitude and actions epitomize the title of this commentary –

Charles R. Dickens was born in 1951, is a veteran of the Vietnam, for which he volunteered, and the great-great grandson of the noted author, whose name he shares.

He is a fiercely proud American, who still believes this is the greatest country on the planet, with which we’ve lost control and certainly our direction. He grew up in moderate financial surrounding; were not rich by any stretch, but didn’t go hungry – his incredibly hard working father saw to that. Charlie was educated in the parochial system which, demanded that you actually learn something, and have capability to retain it before you advance. He attended several universities in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, and chased the goose further to a master’s, and has retained some very definite ideas about education in this country.

In addition, Charlie is a professional (struggling) blues guitar and vocalist – a musician. This is his therapy career. Nothing brings him as much joy as playing music, and he wishes that he could make a living at it… maybe some day!
